Ingredients
- 2 cups water
- 2 No1 black tea bags or 2 tsp loose leaf No1 tea
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 4 whole cloves
- 4 cardamom pods slightly crushed
- 1 small piece fresh ginger sliced
- 1 star anise (optional)
- 2 cups milk of choice
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey adjust to taste
- A pinch of freshly ground black pepper
How to prepare
Bring the water to a gentle boil in a small saucepan
Add the tea bags or loose tea and all the spices
Reduce heat and let simmer for 5 to 7 minutes until fragrant
Add the milk and sweetener
Simmer for another 3 minutes without boiling
Strain the mixture into mugs
Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a dash of ground nutmeg if desired
Serve warm and cozy
